Its guidelines require a full inventory of the remaining controlled drugs within 48 hours of discovering a loss, and a report to the police and to the Board. That is hard to do well when nobody can say who opened the store and when. So this scope starts with a record of access to controlled stock, before it adds anything that makes a noise.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt is built two ways, because pharmacies are built two ways. Most retail pharmacies keep controlled drugs in a locked cupboard, not a room, and a door terminal cannot go on a cupboard. There the scope is Ajax only: an opening contact on the cupboard, detection across the dispensary, and a panic button at the counter. Where there is a controlled drugs store room, typical of wholesalers, hospital pharmacies and larger outlets, a Suprema fingerprint terminal goes on that door and every opening is logged by name and time.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe alarm hub also tells you when the mains power goes off, so a power cut is not first discovered the next morning at the medicines fridge.
