Power backup
A power cut is the most common reason a system stops recording. At full load, with every camera at its maximum draw and the recorder writing to its drives, this kit draws about 175 W. This is what it takes to keep it recording through an outage.

UPS or inverter rated at least 650 VA. Estimates assume 85% inverter efficiency, lead acid used to 50% of capacity and lithium to 80%. Real draw is usually lower, because camera illuminators only run at night. We size the backup for your site on the quote, and it is quoted as an add-on.

Why this kit is built this way
System objective: covers an office building and its compound, with analytics that separate people and vehicles from everything else and active deterrence at the boundary.
Why this configuration
- Alerts worth reading. Human and vehicle classification distinguishes people and vehicles from other moving objects, so the notifications that reach your phone are the ones that matter.
- The perimeter answers back. The four InSight cameras carry speakers and white light, so a boundary breach triggers an audible warning and a strobe rather than a silent recording.
- Power sized properly. Ten of the C240 domes run from the recorder, drawing up to 60 watts of its 90 watt PoE budget and leaving a third spare. The four InSight cameras, at up to 12 watts each, and the other two domes run from a separate 8-port PoE+ switch: up to 60 watts of its 123 watt budget, with two ports free.
Storage, worked out in advance. The two 4TB drives hold about 10 days of continuous recording, or about 20 days recording on motion at a busy site, estimated with conservative bitrates at H.265+ and confirmed for your site on the quote.

Placement is flexible in this kit. The twelve C240 domes are IP67-rated, so the interior and perimeter split here is about coverage and analytics, not weatherproofing. Put domes wherever detail matters most and keep the InSight units on the boundary where the speaker and light deterrent counts.
