Why this kit is built this way
System objective: see who takes materials and plant after the crew leaves, on a site where the builder's power goes off at night or has not arrived yet. In July 2025 a gang with pangas tied up two guards at a Lang'ata sewer construction site and took excavator parts and the standby generator. A camera on its own solar supply keeps recording when the generator is the thing being stolen.
Why this configuration
- No builder's power needed. Each camera runs from a VIGI SP6030 solar supply. TP-Link publish 7.3 days of operation through consecutive rainy days when it powers a 4G camera.
- No internet line needed. Each camera streams over its own 4G SIM and records to its own card.
- It moves with the build. The solar supply carries the pole bracket and the camera bracket, so a pole on a base plate or a clamp to the hoarding can be moved at the next stage.
What the kit includes
| 2x | VIGI C540-4G 4MP outdoor 4G pan and tilt cameras, with white light and audible warning |
| 2x | VIGI SP6030 solar supplies, 60W panel and 31.2Ah battery, with the pole and camera brackets |
| 2x | 128GB high-endurance microSD cards |
Where the cameras go
- The materials container or store
- The plant and generator parking area
- The site gate
Power and signal are checked before you buy. Each camera runs from its own solar supply, so no mains is needed at the pole. Each camera takes its own SIM, and Safaricom and Airtel both run 4G on band 20, which this camera supports; we test the signal at every pole position on the survey and confirm the Kenyan version of the camera on your quote. Recording goes to the card in the camera and uses no data. Alerts and live view use the data bundle on the SIM.
Quoted per site
- A steel pole for each camera, on a base plate or clamped to the hoarding, high enough that the panel and camera cannot be reached
- VIGI S345-4G fixed 4G camera for a second gate, with its own SP6030
Please read. As at Lang'ata, guards can be overpowered. These cameras record what happens, and the light and warning may deter, but they do not stop an armed gang.
Hardware bundle only. Installation and site survey quoted separately.
