Why this kit is built this way
System objective: see the gate and the parking while guests stay at a holiday house or villa, in Naivasha, Nanyuki or on the coast, with no camera inside the house.
Why no indoor cameras. Airbnb has banned indoor cameras in every listing worldwide since April 2024, whether or not they are disclosed. Outdoor cameras are allowed if their use and general location are disclosed on the listing, and they must not look into the house.
Why this configuration
- The approach, not the rooms. Two pan and tilt cameras follow arrivals at the gate and in the parking, in colour at night, with a siren you can trigger from the app.
- A boundary with no socket. The solar camera covers a second gate or a boundary wall where running power is the obstacle.
- No subscription. Each camera records to its own card.

What you need to do as the host
- Disclose the cameras and their general location on your listing
- Put up a sign at the gate saying who records, why and for how long, as the Data Protection Commissioner's draft guidance expects
- Point no camera into the house, through a window, or at an outdoor shower or pool changing area
Wi-Fi decides whether this works. All three cameras join 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, so it has to reach the gate and the parking. We check that before you buy.
These cameras record who arrives and deter, but they do not vet guests. Check guest ID at check-in as the Ministry of Tourism guidelines ask.
