What this is for
The 12V supply for a Protege controller and its modules, with battery backup so the doors and the alarm keep running through a power cut. It tests the battery itself and reports AC failure and battery faults to the system, so a flat battery is found by the system rather than during an outage.
It takes mains input directly. The backup battery is separate: we recommend at least a 7Ah sealed lead acid battery, replaced every three to five years.
What you also need
This item is part of a system. A working installation needs each of these.
- ✓ A 12V sealed lead acid battery, 7Ah or larger
- ✓ A mains connection inside the enclosure
- ✓ A DIN rail enclosure with space for the supply and battery
- ✓ A separate supply for the locks where the door count needs more than 4A
