Why this kit is built this way
System objective: see the compound, the front door and inside your own home from your phone, with no drilling through walls and no trenching. For a family home you live in.
Letting it on Airbnb? Airbnb has banned indoor cameras in every listing worldwide since April 2024. Use the holiday house kit or the short-stay apartment kit instead.
Why this configuration
- Everything through one app. Live view, two-way audio and sirens from the Tapo app, indoors and out.
- The exterior camera powers itself. The C410 runs on its own solar panel, so the position is not limited by where a socket is.
- No subscription. Recording goes to a microSD card in each camera. Nothing to cancel, and nothing that stops working when a card payment fails.

What decides whether this works is your Wi-Fi, not the cameras. Every camera in this kit joins your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, so it needs coverage at each mounting point. Where your router will not reach, we add a Wi-Fi 6 router, and on a compound with outbuildings we tell you before you buy if one router will not be enough.
If a house help or other staff work in the house, tell them where the indoor cameras are.
