FireProtect 2 SB (Heat/CO): built for the rooms where a smoke detector cries wolf

Kitchens, boiler rooms, and garages set off smoke detectors constantly, cooking steam and exhaust fumes look like fire to a photoelectric sensor. FireProtect 2 SB (Heat/CO) skips smoke detection entirely and watches for the two signals that actually indicate danger in these rooms: a real temperature spike and a carbon monoxide buildup. The heat sensors sit outside the enclosure specifically to avoid detection delay, and the alarm fires if the temperature climbs more than 10°C in a minute or crosses 64°C outright. The built-in chemical CO sensor, rated for 10 years of service, alarms within about 90 minutes at 50 ppm, within 40 minutes at 100 ppm, and within 3 minutes at 300 ppm.

Every FireProtect 2 unit in the building works together: when one detects a threat, it triggers the hub to sound every fire detector's built-in siren within 20 seconds, and simultaneously alerts nearby detectors directly, detector to detector, as a fallback that doesn't depend on the hub being reachable. Worst case, every fire detector in the system is sounding within a minute of the first one triggering.

The SB version has a sealed battery: up to 10 years with Battery Life Optimization enabled, or up to 5 years without it, no swap and no maintenance visit. The RB version takes replaceable CR123As and runs up to 7 years, or 3.5 years with optimization off. It carries an 85 dB built-in siren measured at 3 m, supports MotionCam or camera-based visual verification of an alarm, and mounts on a SmartBracket panel with QR-code pairing, no enclosure to open. Wireless range reaches up to 1,700 m in open space to the hub or a range extender.
