What this is for
Contact pairs on all four sides, so it detects water arriving from any direction rather than only from the way you happened to lay it down. It reports the leak the moment the circuit closes, and paired with an Ajax WaterStop it can shut the mains off within seven seconds. That difference, between finding a leak on Monday morning and stopping it on Friday night, is the whole argument for the device.
Sits under a washing machine, a sink, a water heater or a riser cupboard. IP65 rated enclosure, up to five years on the pre-installed batteries, and Jeweller radio reaching up to 1,300 metres to the hub in open ground.
Requires an Ajax hub to function. The WaterStop valve that performs the automatic shut-off is a separate product; on its own this detector alerts, it does not close anything.
Compatibility
Pairs with any Ajax hub (Hub, Hub 2, Hub 2 Plus) over the encrypted Jeweller radio protocol. Not compatible with non-Ajax alarm panels.
