MotionCam Outdoor (PhOD): a motion detector that shows you the yard instead of just alarming about it

Two independent PIR sensors feed a two-step LISA algorithm: first it compares the signal shapes from both sensors for similarity, and if that's inconclusive, it runs a spectral comparison of their frequencies before deciding an alarm is real. That's what it takes to run reliably outdoors, where wind, cars, and shifting light cause most false alarms.

When it does trigger, MotionCam Outdoor captures a series of up to 5 photos, by alarm, by schedule, on request from the app, or by arming and disarming, and delivers the first one in about 9 seconds at the default 320x176 resolution, or about 20 seconds at 640x352. Delivery time depends on signal strength and the hub's internet speed. A glass-and-metal lens with automatic IR filtering and two IR LEDs keeps images usable in direct sun or total darkness, and HDR processing balances bright and dark areas in a single shot.

Built for outdoor duty: IP55-rated enclosure, operating range from −25°C to +60°C, a bundled hood to keep rain and snow off the sensors, and masking sensors that flag any attempt to cover or paint over the lens. Detection reaches 3 to 15 m, ignores animals up to 80 cm tall, and runs up to 3 years on its batteries with entry and exit delays disabled, or up to 2.5 years with them enabled. Wireless range is up to 1,700 m to the hub or a range extender in open space.
