What this is for
Socket (type G): the plug that turns off the iron when you arm the alarm
A smart plug that does more than remote on and off: it reports current, voltage and power draw straight to the app, with consumption displayed in 1 W increments. Set a current threshold anywhere from 1 to 16 A in 1 A steps, default 13 A, and it cuts power automatically if an appliance draws more than it should. It supports both bistable and pulse modes, and has a built-in physical button for manual control at the socket itself.
The real value is in the automation scenarios it plugs into: arm the security system and it can shut off anything dangerous, an iron, heater, or toaster, without anyone walking back home to check. It can simulate activity on a schedule while a property sits empty, cut power to a device a fire detector flags as the ignition source, respond to temperature, CO, or humidity readings from other Ajax sensors, or turn off automatically when a LightSwitch in the room is switched off at night.
Wireless range reaches up to 1,100 m to the hub in open space over encrypted, two-way Jeweller radio. This type G model is rated for up to 3 kW on a resistive load at 230 V, 13 A maximum continuous current, with voltage protection that trips under 184 V or over 253 V and overheating protection above 95°C, so it protects the appliance plugged into it as much as it controls it. Pairing is a QR-code scan in the app, and an LED frame in 7 colours with 15 brightness levels gives at-a-glance status.
- Energy reporting in 1 W increments, adjustable current threshold 1 to 16 A in 1 A steps
- Automation scenarios: security mode, schedule, fire alarm, temperature, CO, humidity, LightSwitch-triggered
- Up to 3 kW resistive load at 230 V, 13 A maximum continuous current (type G model)
- Voltage protection under 184 V or over 253 V, overheating protection above 95°C
- Up to 1,100 m encrypted wireless range in open space
- 7-colour LED status frame, 15 brightness levels
Compatibility
Pairs with any Ajax hub (Hub, Hub 2, Hub 2 Plus) over the encrypted Jeweller radio protocol, and can be triggered automatically by hub-linked scenarios such as arming the system.
