What this is for
Pairs a PIR sensor with a K-band microwave sensor, and the microwave only fires to confirm what the PIR has already seen. That second opinion is the point of the device: it is what stops an air conditioner, a fireplace or sunlight moving across a wall from generating an alarm at three in the morning. Detection reaches 12 metres at the recommended 2.4 metre mounting height.
Ignores animals up to 20 kg and under 50 cm at the shoulder when mounted correctly, so a dog in the house does not mean a disarmed system. Runs up to five years on the pre-installed CR123A battery, communicates with the hub over Jeweller at ranges up to 1,200 metres in open ground, and reports any attempt to open or remove it.
An indoor detector, and it needs an Ajax hub to function; it is a component of a system rather than a standalone alarm.
Compatibility
Pairs with any Ajax hub (Hub, Hub 2, Hub 2 Plus) over the encrypted Jeweller radio protocol. Not compatible with non-Ajax alarm panels.
