What this is for
Carries camera video across long distances without digging a trench. TP-Link publish a field-tested range of 15km or more on a clear line of sight, using a built-in 13dBi dual-polarised directional antenna on the 5GHz band, away from the congestion that fills 2.4GHz.
Two things to set expectations on. The 300Mbps figure is the radio link rate rather than usable throughput, so plan real capacity below it. And range depends entirely on an unobstructed line of sight between the two units, since trees, buildings and terrain all cut it. Connects gatehouses, warehouse yards, farm perimeters and construction offices back to a central recorder.
Compatibility
Sold and deployed in pairs, one at each end of the link. Carries camera traffic from a remote gate or outbuilding back to the NVR where trenching cable is not practical. Requires clear line of sight.
