Suprema BEW3-DB Face Recognition Terminal
- Brand
- Suprema
- Model
- BEW3-DB
- Part number
- SUP-BEW3-DB
What this is for
Face recognition at the door in under 0.2 seconds, from a dual camera pairing a 2MP infrared sensor with a 2MP visual one, at a working distance of 0.3 to 1 metre. Live face detection rejects a photograph held up to the lens, and it authenticates users wearing a mask. Holds 100,000 users, 30,000 faces and a million event records plus 10,000 image logs.
IP67 and IK08 rated, which makes this the one Suprema terminal in our range genuinely built for an exposed entrance, though Suprema still advise siting it out of direct sunlight because strong UV on a face degrades recognition. A canopy or a north-facing wall is the better position.
Two ordering traps worth knowing. This BEW3-DB variant does not support PoE: it needs a local 12V or 24V supply, and only the BEW3-APB version takes power over Ethernet. And it reads 125kHz EM and 13.56MHz MIFARE and DESFire but not HID Prox or HID iCLASS, which again means the APB variant. Requires BioStar 2 version 2.9.7 or later. The lock, exit button, door sensor, power supply and credentials are all separate.
Compatibility
Works as a standalone controller for a single door, and can be managed alongside the BEP2-OD and FSF2-ODB in one BioStar 2 system (version 2.9.7 or later). This BEW3-DB variant needs a local 12V or 24V supply and has no PoE.
