Suprema FSF2-ODB Fusion Face + Fingerprint Terminal

The only terminal in this range that reads both a face and a fingerprint, which is what makes it the choice for a door where a single credential is not enough. Fusion matching combines a 2MP infrared and a 2MP visual camera at a published false accept rate of one in ten billion, working at 0.3 to 1.3 metres and returning a decision within half a second. The optical fingerprint sensor is FBI PIV and Mobile ID FAP20 certified.

Face, fingerprint, card, PIN and ID can be required together or accepted individually, and a 7 inch touchscreen handles enrolment on the device. Holds 100,000 users, 50,000 faces and five million event records. Mask detection can either block unmasked users or simply log them.

Three things to plan for. Fake detection only activates when the device is set to fusion matching mode, so it is not protecting you in every configuration. Power draw is 12V at 2.1A, around 25 watts, which is more than a shared door supply will carry: this needs its own PSU, and there is no PoE. And the ODB variant reads 125kHz EM and 13.56MHz MIFARE and DESFire but not HID Prox or iCLASS, while the AB variant that does read HID has no fingerprint sensor. You cannot have both in one unit. Requires BioStar 2 version 2.8.6 or later. The thermal camera module is a separate accessory.
