What this is for

3840 x 2160 in full colour from a turret housing, four times the pixels of 1080p, with four white LEDs and four infrared LEDs reaching 30 metres and an F1.6 aperture holding colour to 0.005 lux. At this resolution one camera covering a forecourt or shop floor often replaces two at 1080p, because you can crop into the recorded footage afterwards and still have a usable face.

IP67 rated, with a microSD slot up to 512GB and two-way audio. One specification to check before you order: TP-Link lists this as 802.3at Class 4 drawing up to 12.5 watts, a step above the 802.3af cameras elsewhere in the range. Ten of them consume a 140 watt recorder budget, and an older af-only switch may not power it at all. Choose 2.8mm for 111 degrees or 4mm for 91 degrees.

What you also need

This item is part of a system. A working installation needs each of these.

  • A PoE+ (802.3at) port on a VIGI PoE recorder or PoE+ switch; an 802.3af-only port will not power this camera
  • Cat6 cable, up to 100 metres per run
  • A free recorder channel with 4K decoding, and at least 12.5W of PoE budget left
