What this is for

An entry-level outdoor bullet at 4 watts over PoE, the lowest draw of any bullet in the range, which makes it the camera that lets a small recorder fill all its ports without a separate switch. IP67 rated with infrared to 30 metres, recording 2304 x 1296.

The one specification to weigh: this model encodes in H.264 only, where the newer VIGI cameras use H.265. In practice that roughly doubles the storage a given retention period consumes, so a 2TB drive that would hold a month of H.265 footage holds closer to half that here. If storage cost matters more than unit price, the C300HP is the same camera with H.265 encoding. Choose 4mm at 92 degrees or 6mm at 54 degrees.

What you also need

This item is part of a system. A working installation needs each of these.

  • A PoE port on a VIGI recorder or an 802.3af/at PoE switch
  • Cat6 cable, up to 100 metres per run
  • A free recorder channel, with enough PoE budget left for this camera's draw
