What this is for
Infrared reaching 50 metres at 1080p, with a built-in microphone recording audio within five metres of the camera alongside the video. Human and vehicle classification separates people and vehicles from the animals and moving vegetation that trigger most false alerts.
IP67 rated for exterior walls, gates and parking areas, drawing only 5.5 watts over PoE so sixteen fit inside a 90 watt recorder. It has a microphone but no speaker, so it cannot issue an audible warning, and no microSD slot, so it records to an NVR rather than to the camera.
Lens choice matters more here than most people expect, and TP-Link publish the real distances. With the 6mm lens you detect a person at 91 metres, observe at 38, recognise at 18 and identify a face or number plate at 9. With the 4mm those figures are 60, 25, 12 and 6. If a plate has to be readable in court, the camera goes closer than the brochure photograph suggests.
