What this is for

Records 2560 x 1440 with infrared reaching 30 metres in complete darkness. Smart IR stops the usual problem of a face washing out to pure white when someone steps close to the lens at night, and WDR holds detail on a person standing in front of a bright doorway instead of reducing them to a silhouette.

Draws a maximum of 5.5 watts over PoE, which matters when you size the recorder: sixteen of these come to 88 watts, sitting right at the ceiling of a 90 watt NVR, so a full sixteen camera run is safer on the 140 watt model. Corridor mode rotates the frame from 16:9 to 9:16 for stairwells, narrow aisles and long hallways where a wide frame spends most of its pixels on walls. Note that TP-Link publishes no weatherproof rating for this model, listing the protection row as not applicable, so treat it as an interior camera and use an IP67 model such as the C340I or C350 for exposed positions. Choose 2.8mm for 88.8 degrees of general room cover, or 4mm at 75.2 degrees for corridor length and entrance identification.

What you also need

This item is part of a system. A working installation needs each of these.

  • A PoE port on a VIGI recorder or an 802.3af/at PoE switch
  • Cat6 cable, up to 100 metres per run
  • A free recorder channel, with enough PoE budget left for this camera's draw
