What this is for
Eight PoE+ ports on a 93 watt budget, averaging about 11.6 watts per camera, which comfortably runs eight of the 5.5 watt infrared models with headroom to spare. Two drive bays take up to 10TB each, 20TB in total, and the gigabit uplink means remote viewing does not compete with recording the way it does on the smaller recorders.
Records up to 8MP per channel with 160 Mbps in and out, plays back all eight channels in sync, and drives a 4K monitor over HDMI with VGA available for a second screen. Two things worth knowing: playback drops below eight synchronous channels once total resolution passes 32MP, so eight cameras at 8MP will not all replay together; and while the uplink is gigabit, the PoE ports themselves run at 100 Mbps, which is well above any single stream and not a practical constraint.
